Great CD, amazing production Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I have to disagree with the other reviewers. I simply LOVE this CD. The first time I heard it I thought, "what the heck is this, it's not good at all". But after a few listens it grew onto me. What other reviewers said about the vocalist is at the least very subjective. She is not a bad singer, I think her way of singing is very good and full of feeling. As being a musician myself I found the "acoustic-kind-of" arrangement and production on this CD to be of real high quality. The tracks are very relaxing and they give me this sort of summer-feeling. I think what most people are put off with is that it sounds so little like game music. I'd advise you to at least give this CD a try despite the bad reviews on this site, because I know a lot of people who like this CD as much as I do.

Bad choice of singer and songs. Customer Review Rated Bad 0 - 0 out of 10
It´s ironic that this CD is called "Songbook", because the girl on this CD sings bad. Whenever she tries to hold on a note, she fails and that makes the song bad. She sings songs that are out of her tiny voice range, she has tried to make "Eyes on me" in her voice range, but still fails. The thing that makes Eyes on me so pretty, is that it´s so difficult to sing. The music also don´t suit the song, but I would have preferred it an instrumental track. I can´t stand the way the girl is singing, so any vocal track is painful for me to listen to. So is the music good? Yes, the music is quite good and they play well, however, they have chosen the wrong songs for this kind of music! The particular songs "Fisherman´s horizon" and "Daguerro" has to be Final Fantasys most annoying songs, I don´t even listen to the originals. So basically, there is no song on this CD that I like! I think this CD could have been excellent if they had chosen the "irish jig" that wasn´t included on FF8 soundtrack. I never listen to this CD and I have owned it for a long time, I think this Cd is just a poor selection of everything.

kind of pointless Customer Review Rated Bad 3 - 3 out of 10
Buying this cd would be kind of pointless. The songs aren't very good, they're just various FF songs with some lady singing. It has stickers that say "Final Fantasy Songbook Mahoraba" on them. I bought this cd a while ago and since then I've only listened to it a few times because it's just a waste of time. it's not worth it.
