Not like Uematsu...not deep Customer Review Rated Bad 4 - 4 out of 10
There are alot of baist Uematsu fans out there who complained about this soundtrack since he had nothing to do with it. I am a HUGE Uematsu fan and a lover of all his works, therefore, I was reluctant to buy this, but I did anyway because I love Kumi Koda's voice especially. I must agree with all the critism for this soundtrack though. It's very generic and relies more on the sounds of the world like J-pop and J-rock unlike the untouched, genuine beauty of Uematsu's work. The only track that impressed me was 1000 no kotoba (1000 Words). All the rest was less than average and just "OK"! =/ I wasn't moved by any of it besides 1000 no kotoba which is a huge difference in comparison to Uematsu's music, in which almost every song I'm emotionally moved. This CD does not give you "chills" or "goosebumps" like extremely beautiful music would. It's simple and plain - an unpleasant surprise to those used to the brilliant genius of FF music. Squaresoft is no more...Square Enix IS, in fact, a team with new people who lack artistic creativity and originality.

Interesting Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
X-2's music is completely different than anything featured in the Final Fantasy universe (well, I haven't heard any of XI's, so I don't know about that one). However, this isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's a bit j-popish, a bit dance-ish, but can really deliver when it has to, and that's why I admire it so much. Kumi Koda also has some great vocals; I was surprised at real Emotion.
