Directed by Ismene Ting, the 2009 Taiwan film Finding Shangri-La follows the cathartic journey of a grieving mother who runs off to Shangri-La in hopes of finding her late son. Chu Chi Ying from Lust, Caution delivers a moving performance in her first leading film role, although the real star of the film is probably the stunning natural scenery. Co-starring Matt Wu (The Touch of Fate: Da Yu) and Teresa Cheung, Finding Shangri-La weaves a touching story of the love between mother and child, backdropped by the beautiful sweeping vistas of Yunnan, China and intriguing peeks into Tibetan culture.

Consumed by grief, anger, and bitterness, Ji Ling (Chu Chi Ying) is unable to move on after losing her only son in a car crash. After finding her son's drawing of Shangri-La, she decides to go to China herself to find the fabled paradise where she believes her son is waiting for her.

某日，季玲不慎跌入山谷，為一個藏人家庭所救，其中有個藏族的小孩跟她十分投緣，在那片開闊寬廣的天地裡，小男孩別有玄機的話語，讓她不斷受到啟發，緊閉的心房像打開了門。

這一趟如夢般的旅程，讓季玲重新認識自己的生命，而她也將揭發那名神秘小男孩的真實身分……
