This is one of the best romantic drama to watch. Ever. Could yesasia released the full 66 episodes. I would buy it. Too much had been edited out although the 40 episodes version is still very good.

I am referring to this excellent drama. I thoroughly enjoyed it despite of it being over a decade old, it doesn't feel out of date at all. Dong Pal, Chan Wook's friend, stands out for me most. Chan Wook's father was also outstanding. I have never seen Choi Ji Woo so pretty. The most wicked person here is actually not Chan Wook's girl friend's father, but her UNCLE, but he got away with what he had done. 66 epistles would not feel a bit too long. You will soon go through them because it is so well presented.

When this drama broadcasted in Korea, it has 66 episodes, but this version published only 40 episodes,
over 1/3 length been cut, it's a good drama work, but it'd been cut too much, is there any possible "Yesasia.com" could ask the company who published this "First Love" republish a un-cut 66 episodes version? If they willing to republish complete version, I'll buy it again!

시청률조사기관인 닐슨미디어리서치가 1992년1월부터 2004년4월까지 12년간 집계한 결과에 따르면 최고시청률이 40%이상을 기록한 드라마가 무려 총74편(단막극 포함)에 이르는 것으로 집계돼 한국인들이 드라마에 얼마나 열광했던 것을 알 수가 있었다. 한동안 끊겼던40%이상의 드라마도 다시 부활해 대장금이 10위(57.8%),인어아가씨 35위(47.9%),올인 36위(47.7%),천국의계단 49위(42.3%),발리에서생긴일68위(40.4%)등이 다소 침체됐던 드라마시청률에 탄력을 불어넣고 있다. 50위까지 순위를 분석해보면 MBC가 26편으로 절반이상을 차지해 드라마왕국임을 입증했고 KBS가 13개, SBS가 12개를 각각 차지했다

I've never seen this movie before so im going to rate as 5. i've never seen this movie before because i need it to be in english subtiles cause im from the states. i really wanted to see it but never did but i did see winter sonata!

This is an extremely long series. If you are a fan of Bae Yong Jun and Choi Ji Woo as a couple, you will be extremely disappointed. BYJ was not the main character in the series, and CJW hardly appeared in the series. This story was actually interesting and the acting was not bad either.

i eagerly bought this series as i am enamoured of the acting by choi and bae (winter sonata). well, i was disappointed because the two lead actors (the eldest son and his first love) are bad actors, the love story between them ridiculous (everytime they met, their stupidity led to more unnecessary tragedy -- i have yet to meet more stupider characters). half way through, i simply fast forward when these two characters are about to meet again.
what i was not disappointed in though, was the (again) astounding acting by bae and choi (who unfortunately, though billed as lead, made only cameo appearance), but their (although scant) sceneries are electrifying/riveting. sigh! i just wish the director/producer weren't that stupid in not giving at least 1/4 of the series to more acting between choi and bae. i take my hats off to choi and bae.

This is the best drama series I have ever seen before. From the characters to the plot of the stories, everything is just finely crafted and the culmination of these factors really put forth an unforgettable piece of work. Beyond the shadow of a doubt recommended!

First Love, Best Love Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I had a Korean friend in high school, who introduced me to the First Love drama series and encouraged me to watch it on tv every week there was an episode. Thankfully, there were English subtitles so I was able to follow the story and observe the development of the characters and plot. I must tell you all that this is the very best drama series I have ever seen. It surpassed my expectations and to this day, I have not forgotten the impact of watching such a story unfold. The depth and sincerity of the love stories in First Love are truly heartwarming and heart-breaking. It is the type of drama series that could draw all types of fans. It might be long, but it is worth watching. In fact, you'd wish it were longer. Definitely get this fist and second installment of First Love and you days and nights will be filled with wonder, heartache, and timeless love.
