나를 데리러 오겠다던 그 약속이 그가 지키지 못한 처음이자 마지막 약속이 되었습니다. 세상 모든 소리를 듣고, 모든 것을 만질 수 있지만 볼수는 없는 남자 양파. 어린 시절 부모를 잃었고 형제조차 없는 외로운 삶이지만 그가 바라보는 세상은 언제나 따뜻하고 희망적이다. 그에게는 세상 무엇과도 바꿀 수 없이 소중한 초란이 있기 때문이다. 초란은 그에게 숙소를 제공해준 병원에서 일하는 간호사이자 그의 친구이며 고백하지 못한 채 가슴에 품고 있는 사랑의 주인공이다. 간호사 초란, 그녀는 매일 밤 들려오는 누가 부는지 알 수 없는 섹스폰 소리와 한달에 한번 양파의 머리를 깍아주는 일 그리고 팔각형의 젤리를 좋아하는 발랄하고 아름다운 간호사 초년생이다. 덤벙거리는 성격탓에 미안하다는 말을 늘 달고 살지만 병든 사람을 돌보는 자신의 일을 누구보다 사랑하고 또 항상 곁에서 자신을 돌봐주고 힘이 되어주는 양파를 친구처럼 오빠처럼 의지한다. 그러던 어느날, 양파는 야간 근무를 가는 초란을 병원까지 데려다주고 거리로 나서다 교통사고를 당하고 만다. 깨어난 양파, 그러나 그는 이미 세상 사람이 아니었고 알 수 없는 힘에 이끌려 죽은 영혼이 자신의 보험금을 관리하는 탁지만이라는 보험회사 직원의 이름을 빌어 그녀 앞에 나타난다. 탁지만이 된 양파는 끊임없어 초란과 함께 했던 시간에 대해 얘기하지만 초란은 더 힘들어하고 하고픈 말은 하지 못한 채 다시 하늘 나라로 돌아가야 할 시간을 가까워 오는데...

I Love this movie... I could watch it over and over and yet i still cry watching it. It's a very touching movie. One of my best movies.

Heart Breaking and endless tears Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Wow it is such a great movie to watch. Cecilia is such a great actor. This is probably one of her best yet. Seeing Onion getting hit by a car after being so happy just break my heart in two. Also Cecilia struggling with the lost of Onion brought me a man too tear. But I guess nothing is prefect. I also thought that the song went nice with the movie too. I would recommend you to watch it yourself.

my tears ran like the river, at the ending my tears came down non stop! i would have given it a 10 out of 10 but i find that there is something missing, but i just don't know what. but overall it's pretty good, but one thing i didn't like was richie's voice is dubbed!! i don't like dubbing!! things that would make a movie good is either it brings a smile to my face (romance), makes me laugh a lot (comedy), or it makes me cry (like this one). i am a sucker for romance comedy, and once in a while a drama...depending on the story line. i'm not a fan of suspense (ie. infernal affairs), but if i have nothing to watch and if the movie is right there, i would watch it.

this movie is one of my favourites...it's sooo sad and touching....i thought this is probably Cecilia Cheung's best performance in any of her movies (well, Lost in Time comes in a close second)....by the end of the movie i admit i was in tears but who could help it it's too heartbreaking....tear....tear....

Good Movie!!! Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
This movie made me a Cecelia fan and a fan of HK cinema. I especially liked the music. It follows me around. The only negative about this movie was that the translation for the sub-titles was horrible. My mark of a great foriegn film is that I understand what's going on without realizing that I'm reading sub-titles. The sub-titles for this movie are somewhat of a distraction since its so bad.
