Great music, wonderful film! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
In "For Horowitz", Uhm Jung Hwa plays a piano teacher who is filled with bitterness over her unfulfilled aspirations.

She dreams of becoming another Vladimir Horowitz, when this goal clearly is way beyond her grasp. She demands to teach only music majors, when she actually will be fortunate just to get the ordinary neighborhood kids to be her pupils. Her unfulfilled pretentions drive her to become her increasingly focussed on her failures and herself, thereby alienating family and friends.

The neighborhood's little troublemaker, who also proves to be a musical prodigy, is the catalyst that changes the piano teacher's life. Watching how this story plays out in a natural, unforced manner is a marvel.

Uhm Jung Hwa gives a brave and unsparing performance in this beautifully crafted drama. I recommend "For Horowitz" very highly for the whole family!

GREAT movie Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
uhm jung hwa acts really well in this movie, even though its totally different from roles she usually plays. the story is really good and so touching, and its actually pretty realistic.
this movie can be enjoyed by people who dont really know much about classical music, and it can be enjoyed by people like me who are obsessed with classical music and practice music all day long.
the music in the movie is all really famous and maybe kind of cliche, but each thing they chose was perfect for how they used it in the movie. and the very last scene is so well done..

Moving and Amazing... Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I just bought it and watch this movie. this is the best movie of the year for me. If u r a piano player I RECOMMEND u to really watch this movie. they play all song sooo moving and its filled with emotion. To tell u the truth i cried 4 times watching this movie once. its just soo very moving.

especially the song called " Omma / Mother " ....its just.....no words to describe....and also the " Arabesque " of Debussy. played by the little guy...GOD!!! he is a piano prodigy...

i really realllly amazingly moved with this movie....its top knotch....!...

Great movie~! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
If you ever played the piano in your life, of any musical instrument, YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS MOVIE. If you don't play any instrument, then you should STILL watch this movie.

I just recieved my dvd from yesasia couple of days ago and watched it with a friend. We laughed and we cried and at the end, we smiled. This is also a perfect "family movie" too. The music and the some of the scenery made the movie so "fantasy" like, like what you see in disney movies.. it just makes you feel warm inside. Uhm Jung Hwa acted really well in her role. She has got to be one of the best actress in Korea..

I watched this movie without any real expectations and was pleasantly surprised. I absolutely LOVED the story and the acting was just awesome. I wouldn't recommend this movie to someone who likes romance movies, but if you like touching movies.. especially when it involves someone making someone else's life a little better.. I'd recommend this ^^
