More great spoofs
What made this movie enjoyable for me were the spoofs even as miniscule as one scene from other movies & it all melded together in that method-to-his-madness kind of way Stephen Chow has. I don't think this is one of his best but certainly is one not to miss. A lover of quirky Canton humor probably wouldn't miss this for anything anyway. (has similar feel to the spoofs & story telling as Royal Tramp I & II)

hilarious
i remembered watching this movie when i was young, and i remembered some scenes but forgot most of the things in the movie. i recently re-watched it and i was just laughing from beginning to end! without a doubt this is the best stephen chow movie ever!! i choose this over Shaolin Soccer and Kungfu Hustle (which i didnt find that funny) any day. i can't believe all the funny parts were just so creative and funny!!

Excellent movie
The is a wonderful, funny, ingenious movie that will keep you grinning from ear to ear. While Stephen Chau is excellent as ever, the two female co-stars were equally talented and far prettier to look at. Most impressive was the actress who played his wife, who convincingly portrayed emotions of happiness to despair and stole the movie for me. This is definitely a great film to watch.

Stephen does it again!!!
I think I might have watched the movie when I was younger (I'm not that old, I'm 14 years old), but I have to say that stephen Chow is one of the greatest actors and directors. I really look up to him and his movies. Alot of his movies are in the ancient time periods, but are classics!! They're hilarious and funny and have a great plot to it.

the movie, dunno the DVD
One of the funnyest movies ever seen, a bit on the occidental side of filmmaking, which isn't bad at all. IMHO The scene with the "dissection" of the "flying Fairy" should be acclaimed in movie history. Hope that video and audio quality are up to the movie ones!

Forbidden city cop?
Stephen chow is once again in action with his witty and uncanny comical talents (cantonese slangs and unconventional inventions). The truth is "Forbidden city cop" is anything but forbidden, because anything goes in this movie, special effects, people and things travel at the speed of light, and there are moments in the movie that viewers cannot stop but laugh. However, this is not the best film that Stephen Chow which made a name for himself. Nonetheless, "Forbidden city cop" is a good introductory film for new viewers who have not seen any Hong kong: action/adventure/comedy films. So, if you are a curious film junky and understands cantonese or mandarin(because without the knowledge of either dialect as a viewer you can only enjoy half the fun, may be even less than what the movie is made for), then buy the film and see Stephen Chow in "Forbidden City Cop" as one of the emperor's body guard with an ATTITUDE which no one else can emulate.
