　　改編自家傳戶曉的著名小說，《科學怪人》講述一位沉迷於創造生死、改變自然定律的科學家，他的名字叫維特‧法蘭根斯坦(Frankenstein)。他不理父親的反對，毅然離棄自己心愛的女子依莉莎白，跑到德國供讀大學，跟隨華德曼教授，研究自然界的奧秘。他通過科學實驗，從一個已故的人再創造出一個怪物。這個怪物心地善良，樂於助人，比人類擁有更完善的人性本色。

　　可是，沒有人肯接受他，而且他更得不到自己所追求的愛，令他的生命中充滿著嫉妒和怨恨，他請求科學家再給他造一個同類，卻遭到了拒絕，他的一生悲慘勝過快樂，他不顧一節地向人類復仇，最後與他的創造者一起同歸於盡。

　　Frankenstein's career as a young scientist possessed of a dark and obsessive thirst for knowledge. Against the wishes of his father, he strives to divine the mysteries of life and death. Pledging his love to his childhood sweetheart Elizabeth, he leaves for a university in Ingolstadt, Germany where, under the auspices of Professor Waldman, Frankenstein vows to unlock nature's secrets. In his private laboratory, he constructs a creature from the limbs of the dead.

　　Once jolted to life, the creature proves even more human than his creator -knowledgeable, wise, and also possessed of a conscience. Unable to inspire love, he chooses to inspire fear and vows to avenge the man who created and abandoned him. Victim by victim, fueled by painful rage, he closes in on his prey - Frankenstein's beloved Elizabeth. And Frankenstein will inspire terror as he meets his appointment with destiny.
