I just received mine today. Haven't watch it but the cover was damaged a little which is not YesAsia's doing. I mainly bought this drama because I thought the main guy was cute even though he's kinda old now(; |

This is a different vampire movie. Its not horror or even gruesome. You won't feel afraid. Most of the scene shows how carry the girl is to Lee Seo Jin. LSJ is really a very good actors regardless of what role he plays, he is awesome. Too bad that the ending is not happy. Nonetheless, for me its worth watching. This 4 disc tape contains 5 episodes and the last disc is a compilation of the whole short series. |

Freeze was definitely different than any other kdrama. It was short and it was a story about a vampire. Even w/ five episodes though, the story was kinda boring and the love btwn the main actor and actress could've been more well expressed. *plot spoiler* so LeeSJ is a vampireee who loved the main actress's mother, but left her b/c he's a vampire. So now he meets his lover's daughter, Park HanByul, and falls in love w/ her. Late PHB finds out LSJ is a vampire, but still doesn't care and in the end LSJ dies w/ the lady vampire who made him what he is. From the spoiler i guess you can tell why it's not a really really interesting kdrama. The plot didn't have much for LSJ to act out really well, but his acting was good anyway. Overall, a creative story, but not very enticing series of events. 7/10 |

Wow, this is so flat. A very slow-moving, boring drama. Not much of the vampire element. I had to watch 'Interview with the Vampire' just to get a taste of the vampire thing again. Jumpy editing, it's not downright 'bad', just so dull that you don't care what happens to the characters (and I know Lee SeoJin and Park HanBuyl have done much better stuff). Myself, I tried to get through the first two episodes, but twenty minutes into the third one couldn't waste my time any longer. |

I was a little hesitant with this one. The main reason is I dont like thrillers or scary movies. But please do not let the vampire thing fool you...this is a love story. The story line has nice twists and a solid storyline. Its actually nice to have shorter drama. There was no dragging on or extra episodes. One thing I like in all my dramas is extras. This one has a very good amount for just a 5 episode series. They are nicely subtitled and I didnt seee any errors. I would recommend this DVD. Thank you! |

Although the two main characters are vampires, this is certainly a romantic drama story. I know that sounds strange thinking of vampires, bitten necks and stuff, but all the usual romantic drama attributes are here: guilt, loneliness, broken homes, tragedy, un-resolved pasts...and sometime the odd bitten necks you can get in such rom dramas...oh Lordy, you know what I mean. Think "Phoenix", "Attic Cat" and "Alone In Love", but this time with vampires in it. Still, the vampire parts of the main characters are really almost metaphorical and interwoven into a tragic romantic narrative. The needing of the red stuff is more a twisted way of Jung Won's tragic guilt needing to be resolved and a return to the feelings of love he once had. Love frozen in the veins? Its certainly not roaming in the moon light Dracula biting histrionics. The drama itself is played out in very contrasting ways - scenes of subdued ambiance but also a very light affair. I appreciated the way the graphic guys made Jung Won's apartment have prison like 'steel texture mapped' tiling to reflect his entrapment, but also light and airy to reflect the hope he could have. This drama also plays out like a theater play at times at a quite a leisurely pace. It certainly doesn't surge forth until episode 5, but its a decent tale and the horror elements of drinking blood packets are the only real grim bits to be concerned about. Although the TV version of this could be a little long with 5 hours or so (maybe the movie version is about right), I think, in the main, its how the 3 characters overcome their plights than having too many additional plot points. Its performed excellently with Seo Jin Lee (Jung Won) and Tae Young Son (Ihwa) as the two cursed immortals. Contrasting all the darker aspects is the flighty and coquettish young Han-byeol Park as the orphaned Ji Woo who absolutely shines in this. Her very presence makes the drama more light weight by her girly antics and certainly, if she was absent from "Freeze", it would be a much darker tale. Considering her own character's cross to bare by losing her mother, Han Byeol's performance is very electric - all energy and verve, turning at times Jung Won's apartment pictures on a tilt to disrupt his seemingly perfect decor and to attract his attention. Music on this is also very good. There is featured a new rendition of "Graduation Tears" and other nice songs such as "Sad Secret" and the pop ditti "Never Cry" which is very catchy plus a nice melodious Latin-American piece. The best bit of this DVD though is the complete contents having English subtitles...the making of and interviews etc., which is really nice. Watching the extras I also found Seo Jin Lee coming over as really nice guy, and even a fellow actors on set commented about this..and by watching it all through I can well understand why he is well admired. A decent fella! Overall, an excellent package as there is so much to praise here! |

This drama series is okay, not the best from Lee Seo Jin. May be the story line doesn't require a lot from him as in Damo and Phoenix, two of my beloved drama series. I miss seeing his piercing gaze and confident demeanor. I hope body building and good looks will not be the focus of his future works. His stronghold is really his superb acting skills. He is one of my favorite actors and I wish there will be another great drama series from him with another great director and script writer. The young actress is very cute and pretty and she did well, just playing herself I guess. Watch this series if you are a fan of Lee Seo Jin. |

Love, passion, and blood

I absolutely love this series. Freeze is shorter than most Kdramas (only 5 one-hour episodes), but I like that it doesn't require the huge time committment that most similar shows entail. You can watch it all in a day without losing any sleep...:) The story is a bit dark, but fascinating. An older vampire who enjoys beauty, youthful looks, and a life of luxury finds his existence nonetheless cursed and empty. It is only when he meets the beautiful young mortal woman, Ji-Woo, that his emotional wall begins to fall and he realizes he needs love and purpose in his life in order to be happy. But how can he have a relationship with Ji-Woo being what he is? Be warned that this series does include the vampire characters drinking blood and some violence, so I wouldn't recommend this series to younger individuals. BUT this Kdrama does have lush cinematography, dazzling scenery, gorgeous characters, and an achingly beautiful storyline; so how can you go wrong? YA Entertainment did a great job with the subs for this series, and the packaging is very well done. Even if you think you don't like vampire stories, don't let that stop you from seeing this fantastic show--its depth and beauty are breathtaking. I know you won't regret it. |
