データバンクのオペレーターとして探偵事務所に派遣されたプー・リンウォンは、ひょんなことから時価1,000万円ともいわれる高級熱帯魚ドラゴンフィッシュが盗まれた事件を追うことに。やがてその魚に隠された秘密を探るうち、彼女は熱帯魚の水槽に囲まれて暮らす不思議な少年ナツロウと出会う。二人はほのかに心を通わせあうが、少年は実はプロのテロリストだった…。
岩井俊二監督がCHARAの歌「Break These Chain」に触発され、TV用に製作したドラマを後に劇場公開した無国籍ハードボイルド作品。冷徹な殺人者が持つナイーブでアンバランスな魅力を、ブレイク前の浅野忠信が好演している。
