So catchy ! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This is the latest funny Ai's single I really enjoyed. After ''Frienger'' I liked only ''Renai Shashin'', ''HEART'' and ''Pocket''. ''Yumekui'' is good but I prefer catchier songs from Ai, ''CHU-LIP'' is so and so, ''PEACH'' is enjoyable but not that great, ''Rocket Sneaker'' is avarage. Please Ai, I want other songs like ''Frienger'' !

ADORABLE AI! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
She doesn't even try to be cute, but she is! This song makes me so happy! ^_^ I just wanna dance and sing with her. Her voice is sweet, but if you really want to hear her at her best (vocally)...I recommend "Kingyo Hanabi" or "Momo no Hanabira"!

For the hyper & happy people or those who just need a lift, Ai for U!

AMAZING! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
My second Ai-chin's single, and this ROCKS! Ai is such an talented artist! Frienger is such a happy song with lovely lyrics! Amai Kimochi Maru Kajiri is a little bit sad to me, but still such an amazing work. Everybody support Ai-chin!! I'm going to get all of her CDs, because I'm her ultimate-fan! Daisuki!!

Frienger Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
This is a typical Ai Otsuka song - and that's the Ai I really like. The PV is funny and to tell You the truth it's the PV which made me buy this single! Ai looks cute on the cover and on the photos inside the single. I should mention that on the DVD after the PV there is like 2 minuts long making of material - this is not mentioned in the tracklist and i was really surprised when i saw it! More Ai singles! I recently heard a preview o her new song "Renai Shashin" and i wish it will be released as a single!

It surprised me. Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I generally hate Ai Otsuka. I think her voice is very annoying. However I was generally surprised when I heard Frienger. Her voice is high but yet at the same time not annoying. Frienger sounds like most of Ai's songs, but it has a catchy chorus. She also looks adorable in the PV. I'd recommend it if you're an Ai fan or like rock songs.

Nothing but Aichan music Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
This song is nice to hear, but it's nothing too special. It's what you'd imagine a hyper Ai to be. Honestly I love her ballads A LOT, but it's also great to see this side of her from time to time. Ai chan fans should get it :)
This genre is great for spring/summer

Suuupaa Kaawaaiii!!!!!!!!! :) Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I love the Frienger PV. Ai-chan looks sooo adorable in it. Frienger is the cutest PV out of all the other PV's that Ai-chan has done. I definitely recommend the CD+DVD version of this single. This is a must have for all the Ai Otsuka fans!!!

A bit lacking, but cute. Customer Review Rated Bad 3 - 3 out of 10
This single is a bit mediocre. Frienger is addictive and a cute song which gives you a fun feeling, and the videoclip is cute, but for some people her voice has become annoying, especially in songs like Smily, Happy Birthday and now Frienger. Unless you're a die hard Ai fan and you must get every release of hers I don't think it is really worth it.

A typical single from Otsuka Ai. Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
"Frienger" is Otsuka Ai's first single release for 2006. It consists of four tracks - the title track, a b-side and two instrumentals.

The title track, "Frienger", is an upbeat pop-rock song. While it doesn't enter the extremes of cute like in "SMILY" or "Sakuranbo", "Frienger" is still a very happy song. One thing that Otsuka Ai hit smack on the head with "Frienger" is that she wrote the song within the capabilities of her voice. In many of her upbeat songs, the melody consists of very high notes, and Otsuka Ai's voice changes to a shrill squeak the higher it gets. This problem is not in "Frienger". However, the song itself is so-so. While it is good, it sounds more suited to be the opening track for an album rather than a single.

The b-side, "Amai Kimochi Marukajiri", is a mellow, laid-back mid-tempo guitar pop song. It moves along at a steady rate, and in my opinion, is actually better than "Frienger". Otsuka Ai's voice sounds very relaxed. However, the song is also quite unmemorable.

"Frienger" is not a great release, and neither is it a bad one. It's a very 'blah' single, and it feels that she was somewhat lazy in it's creation. If this were merely Otsuka Ai's second or third single, this would be quite forgivable, but compared to recent works such as "Planetarium", "Neko Ni Fuusen" and "CHERISH", "Frienger" is merely mediocre.
