Fullmetal Alchemist 2 -Akaki no Akuma (Limited Edition) PS2

If you are a fan of the anime/manga chances are you already tried out the original Fullmetal Alchemist and found out that it was worth every yen you paid for it. Well the second installment of this series for the PS2 is every bit as good as the first and then some. Akaki Elixer no Akuma translates to "Devil of the Red Elixer" for those who want to know. This latest title will take place after the original 2 episodes but does not follow the original storyline. You play Edward Elric, who can make ordinary objects into weapons like swords or cannons. Your sidekick and younger brother, Alphonse, is there as well in the form of a computer AI which you can partially control. The game is cel-shaded which closely resembles the feeling of the anime. Finally, 2 new characters, Jack Glory and Elma round out the otherwise familiar cast of this evolving franchise.

Fullmetal Alchemist 2－Devil of the Red Elixir is a sequel to 2003's debut Fullmetal Alchemist & the Broken Angel in the now mega popular Japanese cartoon/comic/gaming franchise. Taking place right after the series’ first episode, this second installment follows a brand new storyline with new characters equipped with all sorts of shining skills joining the original cast.

Alchemy 101
This title puts players in the role of Edward Elric. This time Edward is no longer a lone rider but be assisted by his younger brother Alphonse who is controlled by the computer artificial intelligence. To meet head-on with their enemies, the Elric Brothers together exercise different types of alchemies in their long journey.

Walls can either be the blocks or your stepping stones

The Basic Alchemy
"The Basic Alchemy" is one of the newly-added game features in this title. It takes just a click of button ○ and a wall will come right up in front of Edward. You can see it as a hindrance to your opponents or a stepping-stone for you to jump high while turning your hands into swords on an instant. No matter which kinds of "The Basic Alchemy" you have learnt, remember to list them onto your arsenal first before use.

Keep Edward away from the bomb by building a protective wall after triggering it.

Alchemization of Objects
Players can learn the different codes for a variety of weapons and turn any objects nearby into weapons such as bombs, cannons, and grenades. The right weapons to be used from situation to situation is going to differ. It may give you an edge sometimes by using some more special ones like the rat bomb that rushes forward or the grenade giving out flying pieces when it bombs.

Skilled Alchemy
"Skilled Alchemy" is not available from the beginning of the story but only come along as the story proceeds. Press L2 and you will be taken to the Option Screen where you can choose the skills to be used in the game. "Skilled Alchemy" strengthens the weapons you already have by upgrading them to give a number of hits at a time instead of just one single shot.
