2004년 12월 m.net Km Music Video Festival 아시아 인기 록 아티스트 상을 수상하며 멋진 무대를 선보이고 한국에서의 활동을 개시한 Gackt. 이후로 한국어로 부른 ‘12월 어느 사랑 노래’와 ‘ANOTHER WORLD’, 전곡 한국어 가창곡을 수록한 앨범 ‘LOVE LETTER ~for Korean Dears~를 발표하고 한국 팬들을 위한 악수회와 팬미팅, 올해 1월에는 내한공연을 개최하는 등 활발한 한국 활동을 펼치며 주목을 받아온 그의 뿌리를 찾아가 본다.

올해 1월 내한공연으로 J-POP 팬들을 뜨겁게 달궜던 Gackt의 첫 솔로 데뷔음반이 한국에서도 발매된다. 이 앨범은 그의 팬들로부터 그의 최고의 앨범으로 꼽히고 있는 앨범이다. Malice Mizer에서 보컬로 활동했던 Gackt가 팀에서 탈퇴하고 솔로활동을 시작한 2000년,그의 이름을 건 첫 앨범으로 발표한 「MARS」는 오로지 Gackt만의 음악세계가 완성시킨, 가장 Gackt다운 앨범이라 할 수 있다.
또한 날카로운 탐미감각과 뼈대 굵은 그루부가 보컬의 열기와 함께 어우러진 Gackt 특유의 독특한 사운드를 자랑한다. 그룹에서 솔로로 이적 후 본인의 목소리의 다면적인 개성을 확실하게 자각한 라인업으로 완성되어 있는 이 앨범은 Gackt의 음악세계에 대해 더욱 깊은 이해를 돕는 첫 걸음이라 하겠다. 뿐만 아니라 그의 팬이 아니더라도 듣는 이로 하여금 음악에 대한 이해, 장르의 폭을 넓혀주는 작품이라 할 수 있다.

Gackt Mars
| This Item was an excellent purchase and was really cool to listen too, It had great music and strong feel for it. also a nice fun time sound. I really recommend this album even if you are not a Gackt fan because it is great. It is worth the money. |

Amazing

This is the first album of Gackt I bought, and it is still my near favourite! I bought it almost a year ago, but i decided to to give a review, now that I am more experienced in using YesAsia ^^. I think it is such a beautiful album! I love the Freesia ~op. 01~ and Freesia ~op. 02~, they are my absolute favourites on the album, even though a song like "Vanilla" is hard to forget ^^; . Not only that, on the album are also versions of Mirror and Oasis, honestly said, it was my 4th version of "Oasis" I heard O.o The booklet contains very pretty photographs as well! Showing an image of surroundings, cloudy and dreamy. Great album, true must have! |

Fantastic!
| I truly love this album, every song is great. Gackts voice is fantastic, I just love listening to "Emu ~for my dear" and "Asrun Dream" because he sings with such emotion. I owned all the Mars-singles before I bought this album, and it was definately worth buying this album for the album exclusive tracks. I especially love "Ares", "Emu ~for my dear", "Asrun Dream", "Vanilla", "Mirror", "Oasis", "Dears" and "U+K". "illness illusion" is weird, but it's very a very cool song. |

Gackt A.K.A "The sexyness"
| This was MY first Gackt album and I loved it from the begining to the end it's defiantely something you can play through. I highly recomend this if you are just getting Gackt or even if you love Gackt. His sexy voice to his sexy voice and did I mention his sexy voice! |

All I know is I loved it!
| It was one of my MANY introduction to JRock. I would have to say it was a beautiful album expecially the songs. Everything is so unique and in place. I love the violinist that plays with Gackt too! |
