Young Parisian Stephane travels to Romania in search of a legendary gypsy singer. Old Isidor. the village clan leader, helps Stephane ease into the chaotic but passionate world of gypsy musicians, alternately picaresque, funny and violent. Stephane falls in love with the high-strung Sabina, an attractive gypsy dancer whose allure is matched by her fiery personality and blunt vocabulary. Stephane struggles to understand the gypsy way of life and learns the real meaning of tolerance.
