nice selections

gigi's popularity has been unstable ever since she broke up w/ekin she greatly change herself in appearance and music wise with this cd..you can hear that change i personally found that there's not enough new songs..i guess this will probably be the only canto album gigi will be releasing this year..so with only 2 new songs..it's hard to gain popularity and attention from audiences disc 1, track 1 - composed by gigi..the melody is not too outstanding compared to her other songs that she composed..it has a hip hop, r&b feel to it..a medium paced song disc 2, track 1 - slow song..not too outstanding even to be catchy though i was enjoying more of her old songs than the new i personally liked a lot of gigi's songs from when she came out to around the 2003-2004 era..there weren't a lot of songs chosen from that era in this cd (cause the old songs are mostly based on her 2005-2006 era)..but some outstanding tracks were disc 1 - track 2, 3, 12, 14, 16..disc 2 - track 2, 4, 11, 16, 17..those are like..songs very well-known to gigi onto her 2005-2006 era..gigi had made a great change from her music..she went from a slow-jam karaoke canto pop princess to a sexy hip hop r&b dancing woman disc 2 - track 8, 9 are perfect examples her change of music style in her latest era weren't too outstanding..but i like how she tried different styles to work more on her vocal ranges (which had greatly improved)..some memorable tracks are disc 2 - track 3, 10, 15 overall it's been a good selection of the new and old..more heavily based on her recent old songs gigi spends most of her time in the china market now..doing performances..her latest shangai concert seemed to be a great success i really look forward to gigi's next release..hope she can really spark and spice up her music..made the hk industry be aware of her again |

Satisfactory Selection

Still listening to her 2004 compilation of hits, I was quite tempted NOT to get this particular one. This 2007 compilation contains hits from her last 3 albums, as well as the last few prior. Admittedly, Gigi's star slided a little after her tumultous split with Ekin a couple of years ago. She has lost some shine in terms of song writing, having had some of her good years circa 2000-2004, penning gems such as TALL GIRL (I actually like her version better than Hacken's). All these gems are found here, plus some new songs, including THE FUTURE OF FUTURE, which should be up the charts. She has also ventured beyond ballads and shows maturity as song writer and singer. Keep on working, girl. |

| i dun think so. gee's songs might not be good to listen which not apparently all are not.. but tt does not mean shes not a good performer. gee's voice has definitely changed since then. she has been very clever in rounding off ballet singing plus high-pitch soft melodies. one of the veterans i agree in music + movies. one of the successes in HK entertainment industry :) |

not enough gd songs
| Gigi really hasn't had many good songs out over the past few years and few people associate her with her music compared with her love life...I think the album shows this since the "best selected" songs are not that good...altho to be fair i would recommend "cinderella, huo hua, liang ge ren de xin yun" to those who are interested in this album...but I would advise her to accumulate better songs before releasing a greatest hits album in the future... |
