good start on her new chapter Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
glitter is a typical summer jam..a bit simliar to the blue bird side..with a bit of techno beat..an overall nice fast song

fated is a slow song with a build up of guitars and drums..this is what ayumi has been doing lately..her 'secret' album was heavily based on the rock side..it's no surprised fated is too
everything blends well together..and ayumi sings this song w/passion and emotion

overall nice start to her new chapter
ayumi has been changing her music style a lot over the past few years..i like the change..and hopefully her next album is a great spark too

Far better than expected. Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
I have to admit, though I follow Ayu religiously, her singles lately weren't cutting it for me. Startin`/Born to Be and BLUE BIRD just didn't make it up to par. The songs seemed pretty boring and repetative, though all the other songs on Secret were wonderful, in my opinion.

This single has blow the other previous singles away. No, Glitter sounds NOTHING like BLUE BIRD. The rhythm was very different. If anything, Glitter sounds similar to Greatful Days. Personally, Glitter was a great song. Ayu's English was very rough, but absolutely adorable.

Fated was a wonderful rock track. When I heard she made ANOTHER rock song, I thought it would be terrible. I thought 1LOVE was terrible at first, but quickly liked it after a few listens. Fated got me on the first listen, it immediately grabs you into it. Her voice is very good in this song, far better than glitter. You can hear the emotion behind it, since the song itself is very touching.

Now, my only problem with this single was that they put secret as the extra track. Why on earth would they do that? Usually, it'd have a remix or a new version of a song, not a song from a previous album. In fact, there were remixes of glitter, but only certain people were allowed to listen to them. I guess they realised this, since the new single Talkin` 2 Myself has a nice version of fated on it.

pretty good... Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
These two new songs by Ayu are good as usual, but not as fantastic as others have been...

Glitter: This song took a while to grow on me. At first, i didn't really like the melody of the verses, but now i do, it is a pretty good song. Pretty catchy.

Fated: This is the better song out of the two. A beautiful rock ballad. This song is sad but i love listening to it.

As for the music videos...I wasn't too sure how the whole short film thing would work out, but after seeing both videos, I think that it was a very good idea. The video for Glitter was cute cause it's about her falling in love, and Fated is such a tearjerker, I love watching these two back - to - back

If you want to buy this single it's not a waste of money, but i personally am just going to wait for the album to come out.

Make sure you get the video Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
version of this great single. You'll miss the whole point if you don't. I really love these songs and the videos with Shawn Yue are to die for. In fact, thanks to these videos, I am now a Shawn Yue fan. (waiting for a 2008 calendar, BTW, dear). If he was already a star in HK, he will now be a superstar, thanks to his performance in this video. Love it!

great summer single!! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
i honestly love this single. i LOVE fated, more than glitter, but both songs are amazing! the emotion in fated is beautiful, as is the music and lyrics. and glitter instantly puts a smile on my face, right when the "yes still believe in love" comes up ;) i love this single and it's a great way to start off ayu's 3rd chapter! she still reigns supreme :)

Another great hit. Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
On the contrary to what 'Guadalupe Sánchez' said, this is one of 2007's most anticipated single. glitter is one of the best summer songs out there this year, cool and happy lyrics while fated on the other hand deep and painful lyrics, balances the single out - creating a number 1 hit single! Ayu has and will continue to do well in the music industry. The short film is just perfect, great storyline and great actors (ayumi + shawn).
With the additional track of Secret included on the single to promote 'Confessions of Pain', it has added to the highlight of this single, making it even more better. This is a must have single for all fans of j-pop.
And for the ignorant people thinking she broke up to promote her new single like Utada Hikaru...i don't think so. Ending a 7 year relationship just for this isn't ayu at all. So leave her personal issues out of this thanks.

Blue Bird Review Customer Review Rated Bad 0 - 0 out of 10
Glitter is the identical sibling of Blue Bird. The instruments are the same, the vocals are the same and the only real difference is new lyrics and slight difference in tune.
Fated is the better of the couple, though Ayumi's vocals are much worse than they could have been. The composition is nice at the beginning but dies after the vocals begin.
It doesn't seem she tried very hard on this single. Glitter is reused, Fated's vocals are bad and even the covers are disappointing. There was hardly any effort put into the single, not to mention the "I'm getting married!!/I'm breaking up with my boyfriend" ironically a few days before the release.

Anazing Single Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Wow glitter and fate are two simply amazing songs. Glitter is a really nice upbeat song that's quite common with ayumi music but nevertheless wonderful. Fate is a bit more of a ballad type song and ayumi's ballad songs are always excellent. I know secret seems kind of random to be in this single but who would argue with it? It's a great song and I would not mind getting an extra song in my single. Great single from Ayumi and a must get!

Great songs and PV. Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Usually, I'm not attracted to Ayu's summer songs (A-side songs)...However, this year, Glitter suprises me with its fresh and appealing melody. As I predicted, the B-side song/Coupling song, Fated, would be a good ballads. Wow, I can't stop listening to Fated! The melody is beautiful and touching. The PVs...blends well with the 2 songs although the storyline is quite typical. Wow, I must buy this single. It's a grab for this summer. This year I'm glad to see more hi-quality products from Japs artistes, such as Gackt's single Returner, Namie Amuro's album Play and Ayu's latest single, Glitter. It's phenominal!
