Also known as See-Bar, God Father is an early gambling action-comedy starring a then-unproven film actor named Chow Yun Fat! Chow Yun Fat is the main character, a young fellow who exists on the fringes of the underworld with unflappable charm. An avowed gambler, Chow is a generally happy fellow until he's sucked into the world of triads, who proceed to make his life a living hell. Determined to take back what's his, Chow sets out for revenge - but he still manages to have some fun along the way! God Father is propelled by fun comedy, entertaining action, and the requisite gambling scenes, and Chow Yun Fat's obvious star charisma carries everything else. God Father was released nearly ten years before Chow Yun Fat's genre-defining role as Ko Chun in Wong Jing's classic God of Gamblers. Still, even back then it was hard to find an actor as plainly charming or charismatic as Chow Yun Fat!

　　踏上賭神之路前的一段鮮為人知的故事！

　　杰仔（周潤發飾）生性好動，一時意氣與黑幫青年鬥車，將黑幫青年之電單車撞毀。

　　黑幫青年糾黨往車房報復，將車房汽車毀壞，杰仔為討回公道，往黑幫開設之地下賭場賭錢，利用契爺之千術，對付黑幫老大郭善，善表面是正當商人，暗地裡經營黃、賭、毒生意無所不為。

　　因為杰仔在賭場搗亂，善派人將車房盡毀，杰仔懇求契爺幫手，契爺亦不值善等人之殘酷手段，契爺答允往找拍檔朱金斗協助。

　　朱金斗喜見失散多年拍檔，為感激契爺當年為自己犧牲一隻左手，決定義助杰仔，朱金斗往善每個賭場豪賭場場皆勝，善震驚派人請朱金斗來會面，朱道出因為要籌措壹千萬與越南人做越南人蛇生意，迫不得已才會向賭場做手腳。

　　善聽見越南大生意，願意出五佰萬與朱合作，協議雙方各提取五佰萬面洽，契爺與朱將千門中之計中計、反間計等計謀使出，令杰仔將善之五佰萬元騙走。
