Superb fun!

You know, when you go to see a Hollywood movie where the lead characters are not human so they get absolutely minimal screen time - the entire film is told via some people you care very little about? Thankfully this does not apply here! Everything works well in this film, it doesn't take itself very seriously, it doesn't bore you with hours and hours of boring character development - they set it up then let Godzilla and Mechagodzilla (Kiryu) at each other and it's great fun to watch. Godzilla himself has a lot of character - he gets out of every bad situation and trap, Kiryu looks absolutely stunning and you'll be shocked at how agile they both are and how much of a mess they make of Tokyo! X Absolutely cannot wait to see a subtitled version of the next installment: Godzilla x MechaGodzilla x Mothra |
