I actually bought both the overseas copy of this, and the japanese, and I'll keep this short since I already wrote my review for The movie. The Extras on this disc are quite plentiful, not only do we have a full length making of feature, we also have four hour long featurettes on the making of the suits. The two hour making of feature, however, is the real meat of this set, as it includes interviews, and much behind the scenes footage. The first disc, which holds the movie previews ect, has an excellent commentary track for those who can understand japanese, and are in to that sort of thing. Overall, its worth the money if you really want an excellent disc. Oh, and the visual quality is excellent, and reveals that no matter how hard one might look, they aren't going to find the wires holding mothra up. Eheh. |

Very well made Godzilla flick

Shusuke Kaneko became one of my favorite Directors ever since I watched the Gamera Trilogy, Crossfire: Pyrokenesis, and The Haunted School 3. When I heard he was gonna direct the next Godzilla, I was overwhelmed and excited. Upon viewing GMK, I was not dissapointed. Kaneko has done it once more, he has brought great acting, great special effects and great story telling back to Kaiju films. There are 4 monsters in GMK. Baragon, Mothra, King Ghidorah, and of coarse, Gojira. I highly recommend this movie if you enjoy Monster flicks such as the new Gamera movies. The only problem, very minor problem, I had with the movie was the music, in some places it worked, in others, it failed... but overall I accepted it and was pleased that it kept with the feel of the old Godzilla movies. They even payed homage to Akira Ifukube at the end, which was very cool. |
