Splash Style

Gold is the duo's power ballet with a mixture of piano and orchestrated elements. The title track departs from the dance oriented singles they have previously released. Matsumoto's guitar riffs from time to time reminisced Guns and Roses' Slash signature sound, and Inaba's wonderful voice brought out the freshness of B'z trademark style in music making. Ultra Soul~Splash Style stripped majority of the techno drum beat on the original version, and adopted for a lighter yet effective jungle beat. The distorted guitar riffs mixed quite well with their openness to update music trend in the remixed version. B'z has again kept their music fresh and listening friendly. This is actually the best of three tracks on this single. The final track of this single does have a 80's metal band meets 90's Red Hot Chili Peppers feel to it. It isn't one of B'z best songs, nevertheless, it isn't hard to listen to either. For Ultra Soul~Splash Style alone, this single is worth having. |

GOLD: B'z 28th consecutive #1 single. In short, this is a beautiful song. It's slower in pace, unlike the previous single, "Ultra Soul," but the vocals mix sooooo perfectly with the orchestration(sp?) to give this song a POWERFUL feel to it. You'll have it on repeat, for it will grow on you quite quickly. :D |
