2. Bringing Your Puppy Home: The First 48 Hours
Welcoming a new puppy into your home requires planning and preparation. Dog trainer Joel Silverman visits a rescue shelter and a professional dog breeder to get the inside scoop on adopting a pup.

3. Table Manners: The Begging/Stealing Dog
Joel Silverman teaches a lesson in etiquette using the "Go-on/Lie Down" command and provides a 'how-to' on weaning a dog off of food rewards. Also: vet Steven Thatcher describes a good doggie diet.

4. Strangers & Guests: The Over-zealous Greeter
Trainer Joel Silverman makes a house call to teach Rudy the 'off' and 'stay' commands; then gives on the spot training to a group of dog owners in a California dog park; and joins agility trainer Karen Moureaux as she trains dogs on the tunnels.

5. Dog Won't Come When Called
Jay discusses the importance of the 'come' command and shows how to keep dogs under control when called; puppies learn the 'stay' command; dogs learn to keep from biting during playtime; and the vet gives advice for dogs who dig compulsively.

6. Introducing A New Puppy
Jay shows the proper techniques of adding a second pet to the family; puppies are taught the three steps of 'correction'; dogs learn to be comfortable inside crates; and the vet offers insight on comforting animals with arthritis.
