Kimura Takuya takes to the skies in the 2003 TBS drama Good Luck!!. With Kimura leading the cast, expectations for the drama were naturally sky high, and Good Luck!! did not disappoint, becoming the top series of the year with viewership ratings of over 30%. The drama brings viewers behind the yellow tape into the exciting world of the airline industry. Kimura plays ambitious young pilot Hajime Shinkai who, despite his father's disapproval, has finally realized his lifelong dream of flying. Now a first officer at an international airline, he is in a relationship with mechanic Ayumi (Shibasaki Kou, Orange Days) and working hard towards his goal of one day becoming a captain. The sky isn't always a friendly place for the inexperienced pilot, however, especially flying under the strict and mirthless Captain Kouda Kazuki (Shinichi Tsutsumi, Metro ni Notte).
