Kimura plays ambitious young pilot Hajime Shinkai who, despite his father's disapproval, has finally realized his lifelong dream of flying. Now a first officer at an international airline, he is in a relationship with mechanic Ayumi (Shibasaki Kou, Orange Days) and working hard towards his goal of one day becoming a captain. The sky isn't always a friendly place for the inexperienced pilot, however, especially flying under the strict and mirthless Captain Kouda Kazuki (Shinichi Tsutsumi, Metro ni Notte).
