逞しい肉体を持った男、ベニト･ゴンサレスは、自分のビルを建て、最愛の女リタと結婚するのが夢だった。しかし、リタにはあっさり裏切られる。三年後、小さな不動産会社を経営していた彼は、銀行から融資を受けるために、銀行員のフォルクに自分の愛人クラウディアを抱かせようとするが、失敗する。結局、ゴンサレスはフォルクの娘マルタと結婚し、“ゴンサレス･タワー”の建設に着手する。それでも依然としてゴンサレスはクラウディアとの関係を続け、クラウディアもマルタもゴンサレスに不信を感じ始める。そこで、彼はクラウディアを家に招き、3人で関係を持とうとする。逆に意気投合したクラウディアとマルタだが、あるパーティの帰りにゴンサレスと彼女たちの乗った車が事故に遭い、クラウディアは死亡、ゴンサレスは重傷を負ってしまう。さらには市議会がビルの認可を撤回しようとしていた。そんな折、ゴンサレスは魔性の女、アナと浮気してしまう。マルタは彼のもとを去り、ビルは取り壊され、銀行との取引も凍りつき、ゴンサレスはアナと共にマイアミへと移るのだが。
