Gumiho, or nine-tailed fox spirits that can take human form, took over Korean television in summer 2010 with SBS airing My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed Fox and KBS airing Grudge: The Revolt of Gumiho. Han Eun Jung (Cinderella Man) stars as the gumiho mother looking for revenge in this period fable co-starring Jang Hyun Sung (Jejoongwon) and child actresses Kim Yoo Jung and Seo Shin Ae (High Kick Through the Roof).

After getting betrayed by her husband, gumiho San Daek (Han Eun Jung) wants only to quietly raise her daughter Cho Ok (Kim Yoo Jung) away from human eyes. She finds a new home with former official Doo Soo (Jang Hyun Sung) and his sickly daughter (Seo Shin Ae). But as Cho Ok begins to gain powers and shape-shift, it becomes increasingly difficult to keep their identities a secret, leading to tragedy and revenge.
