Gorgeous Album Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Honestly. It's a gorgeous album. All of the tracks are so well written and they're the kind of songs you can listen to over and over and over again.
I was worried when I first got it, because usually, as artists go on in their careers, their music declines in quality, and this assumption made me dislike the album at first - but, after actually listening to the songs instead of skimming through them, I found that there is not a song on the album that I don't like. Seriously. I love them all. Sometimes I set my media player to shuffle and set this album as my playlist.
Most of the songs have catchy melodies, or riffs that travel around in your head all day.
I highly recommend this album. Like Sakura-chan said, not Ayu's best work, but still a wonderful album. (My personal favourite is 'Secret').
Ayumi Hamasaki seems to improve in quality as her career goes on, and being able to do all of this with tinnitus is truly admirable, because if you've ever had an ear infection and tried to sing, the physical feeling is quite unbearable.
I hear that 'untitled ~for her~' is about a friend of Ayu's who died (The album is dedicated to this same friend, if you look at the booklet). It is a beautiful song, and anyone who has a heart and reads the translation while listening to the song will most likely give way to tears.
To summarize, an excellent piece once again, and I can't wait until Ayu's 10th album.

Favourite track(s): talkin' 2 myself [the intro is genius]. The Judgement Day; Marionette.

Ayu never dissapoints me Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Maybe not her best album ever but tracks like ''talkin' 2 myself'', ''(don't) Leave Me Alone'', ''GUILTY'', ''Together When...'' and ''Marionette'' keep the album quality pretty high. There are rock songs as usual, ballads and pop/dance songs, it's a very homogeneous album.

Guilty is right... Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
"Guilty" makes a great 1st impression with "Mirror". With it's explosion of high-paced energy it sets the tone and mood "Guilty" intends to deliver. Tracks 2-5 further carry you into "Guilty's" dark atmosphere, mainly with help from the fantastic songs "talkin' to myself" and "decision". The title track is just brilliant, with the ominous bell ringing in and the unsettling voice repreating "guilty" in the background completly sets the album's moody, emotional feel. "faded" and "Together When..." are two gorgeous ballads in which you shouldn't be surprised if you have tears welling up in your eyes! "Marionette -prelude-" is pointless to me since the track itself is outstanding and doesn't need an introduction. "The Judgement Day" is a prelude worth having; almost reminds me of "Opening Run"; it just leaves you excited for what is to come. We all know and love "glitter" yet "My All" seems like we've heard it before and offers nothing memorable about it. Then another prelude is set for "untitled - a song for her" both which doesn't do anything for me. The prelude is boring and the song is far from special and falls flat for me.

Overall I have mixed feelings about this album. Tracks 1-7 are great about after that I find myself removing the cd and listen to something else. Ayumi threw in too many preludes. 4 is not nessicary for a 14 track album. The album offers only 5 new tracks. "Guilty" doesn't carry the excitment that "Mirror" introduces and promises throughout the entire album. Personaly the only thing that Ayumi is guilty for is not putting enough effort into the album and giving her fans more freash, quailty tracks and less pointless preludes.

Doesn't disappoint Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Continuing from her last album, "Secret", and maybe even a little from "(miss) Understood", Ayu dives further into the rock genre with "GUILTY". Does this risk pay off?

The starting tracks, from Mirror to talkin' 2 myself, are darker with no hint of bubblegum pop around... but boy are they good songs. decision and Guilty are slower, but still retain that rock sounding. fated and Together When... are both ballad-ish, with the former being the superior. Instead of the usual "taskin" interludes, Ayu opts for a prelude track to Marionette. This prelude track does a fantastic job of setting the mood for Marionette, which is a good enough song. Strangely, The Judgement Day is yet another interlude song, although it's so good it should be a full-length track.

Now we get into the poppy stuff. glitter isn't all too good in my opinion, but the following MY ALL (the only other 'happy' song) redeems it. reBiRTH is the final interlude song, which I don't really remember, and finally, untitled~for her~. untitled~for her~ is a smooth, peaceful song with a feeling of hope to it, like Endless Sorrow from her album "I am...". It's a very good way to end an already strong album.

Bottom line: It's not the best album for first-time listeners, but Ayu proves that she can do rock and have a strong, balanced album.

Ayu vs Kumi - competition! O_O Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This is absolutely amazing. To me, this is Ayu's best album ever and Kumi is releasing her best album ever too! n_n'' major competition, but I'm rooting for Ayu. She's always been my most favorite artist.

This album is dark, hard rockish and sexy-cool! Those who like songs such as "talkin' to myself", "decision", "Secret", "GAME", and "Kiss O' Kill" will be VERY pleased because almost every song is like that kind of style. This album is strong vocally too! All the songs are strange, different from one another, and highly interesting. =O I'll review the CD+DVD version once I recieve mine in the mail! n_n

Intro - once this comes on, you know you're in for a dark and mysterious journey through the world of Ayu.

(don't) Leave me alone - Hard rockish song that reminds me of a mixture between "1 LOVE" and "Kiss O' Kill"! Amazing new track! n_n can't wait for the PV!!

GUILTY - very dramatic with a catchy guitar drift like "talkin' to myself" has. This is one of the tracks I'm looking forward to most of all. it's very emotional too.

Together When... - one of Ayu's most gorgeous ballads ever. It combines a beautiful string section with piano. T_T The PV for this one is so sad and very symbolic too. I think this song was perfect to release as a digital single to excite fans about the upcoming album!

Marionette - the prelude for this song is very eerie O.o then, when the song comes on, you're like =O .... it's the best new song! Truly strange, mysterious, dark, and dramatic with a rock feel mixed with a string section. Astounding *_*

The Judgement Day - It starts with "lalas" and a organ...quiet and soft...honestly, nothing more to say! O.o (the sample ended!) i wonder what happens next!

MY ALL - One of my most favorite tracks! Ayu begins to close off her awesome rock adventure with a softer, light-hearted upbeat song (still rock though!)...it's so sweet and I can imagine Ayu ending a concert with this song + "untitled ~for her~"!! It's one of my most favorite Ayu songs EVER. n_n-V

reBIRTH - n_n sweet, relaxing music from what I hear! (sample ended) I wonder if Ayu will sing in it later. But it's very orchestra and beautiful - kind of preluding the next song.

untitled ~for her~ - Ayu ends her album with a beautiful, emotional ballad loaded with gorgeous music and vocals. It's too gorgeous to describe. Maybe Ayu will end the encore of her 2008 ~10'th Anniversary~ Tour with this or it'll be the next-to-last song. Anyway, it's amazing.

This album is so incredible.....I have no words to describe it. The only song that pops in there where you're like "what the heck?" O.o is "glitter"...I like it, but it is NOTHING compared to the rest of the album. "fated", "decision", and "talkin' to myself" fit in there just perfect though.

Truthfully, this style is more classic Ayu-style than "Secret" and "Miss Understood". This is sort of like "My Story"!!! It's her best album ever and I can't wait to see the videos once I recieve my CD+DVD in the mail. Kumi has some serious competition. Ayu just might outsell everyone, and by the sound of it, I think this CD deserves it fully. n_n

By the way, the covers are incredible! Kind of like a reminisence of the "Duty" album, except this time she's not confined by the cage, but free with unlimited possibilites in her grasp. Symbolic as it is pleasing to the eyes. Way to go, Ayu. n_n
