　　The ecologists' worst nightmares have come true. Whatever is left of the ozone layer is barely enough to keep the planet from burning to a crisp. Hank Symes (Tcheky Karyo), a microbiologist, is determined to transform the earth's sheltered areas into a blooming Garden of Eden. When one of his experiments blows up, his house is transformed into some kind of primordial swamp and Hank is metamorphosed into a new life-form…… this bizarre family environment makes Hank's son, Andreas (Balthazar Getty), the target of his schoolmates' cruel jokes. Only Deborah (Laura Harris), Coach Marlowe's (Kenneth Welsh) beautiful daughter, seems to like him. Soon, Deborah's jealous old boyfriend and his gang, and even the townspeople, try to vandalize the house - but the house fights back. It seems to have taken on a life of its won, a living dwelling bristling with lethal attack plants. And Hank's "spirit" is everywhere…… In a climactic finale, people discover what's in store for the planet, as well as Andreas and Deborah's fate as a modern-day Adam and Eve, destined to inherit the Earth……
