The album covers of Kinki Kids have always been the center of attention as these two young men have always been putting much effort on giving us a surprise every time. After enjoying the company of the antique red convertible on the single cover Eien no Bloods and the white motorcycles on Kokoro ni Yume wo Kimi niwa Ai wo Gira Gira, Kinki Kids this time bring themselves into a sci-fi scene and become two frozen men in cold storages. The theme of their shots has actually nothing to do with their songs but still it gives a breath of fresh air each time we come across their musical work. The title track Hakka Candy of their 18th single is the theme song of the Japanese television drama Moto Kare starring Kinki Kids member Domoto Tsuyoshi, Hirosue Ryoko and Uchiyama Rina which was aired in the summer of 2003. To produce the sweet and fresh feeling of peppermint drops through melody, Kinki Kids tell a love story accompanied by guitars together with some rock 'n' roll percussion. The other song on this single features more of the two Kinki Kids singing together. This time the keyboard playing takes the lead to cool down the burning summer, just like Hakka Candy does. This is a must buy CD for those of you that still haven't got it yet. It reminds me of Motokare everytime I listen to it. Tsuyoshi has acted so well in Motokare as expected. This single is very different from their previous two...highly recommended!!! <244~Tsuyoshi forever!> |
