artistic adult theme movie Customer Review Rated Bad 2 - 2 out of 10
Peony Pavilion is an artistic adult theme movie and deals with subjects of sexual confusion, lesbian and heterosexual experiences. The movie is too artistic to the point it becomes slow and drags. The background and setting is elaborate to the very extreme it creates a suffocating atmosphere. At the end the audience will feel like they were on opium. It is hard to try to watch this movie again.

Joey WOng's comeback after 7 years Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
This film is brillant and intoxicating because of the setting costumes and atmosphere. Although this movie was a bit slow paces, it did feature the long awaited return of the beutiful Joey Wong Cho Yin to the big screen. SHe played the ghost in all the CHinese Ghost Story films and she was one of the biggest icons in Hong Kong during the 90's. Joey is a great actress and this film is worth watching just for her, since the supporting cast consists of the likes of Daniel Wu and such. Joey announced her permanent retirement after this movie so this movie may very well be her last performance on screen ever.

Peony - Only for a few Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
I agree with the other reviewers. I found myself fast forwarding through this disc continously, it wasn't until the end that I started to gain interest. I was very confused on what era the movie was dealing with. What I loved about the movie was the cinematography, it was beautiful. I could watch the beautiful scenes in this movie over and over. If you are into cinematography and liked movies like Red Rose, White Rose....get this.

too long and too slow Customer Review Rated Bad 1 - 1 out of 10
peony pavilion is too long and too slow. the main theme of this movie is a female school teacher who is confused about her sexuality. she has strong feelings for one of her cousin's wives and she has a hot intense intimate sexual relationship with a male school teacher. this movie deals with lesbian relationship and heteorsexual relationship. this gots a lot of adult themes and sexual content. not recommended for little kids. this movie was very dull and boring. it too forever for it to finish. after it finished everyone fell asleep.

Too Slow Customer Review Rated Bad 1 - 1 out of 10
This movie is way too slow. I know that it is an artistic movie and would be shown in art houses but this was really slow. I watched it one time and only liked it because got to see Daniel Wu in a steamy shot but his part was really small and not enough to keep the audience awake. I had to play it a second time because my friend wanted to watch it and I fell asleep towards the end. I couldn't wait for it to be over so that I could turn off the dvd player to save energy. Joey Wang gives a good performance as the sexually confused female teacher, who likes to be in a relationship with a woman, but also wants a hot steamy sexual relationship with the male teacher (Daniel Wu). Joey Wang's and Daniel Wu's performances were excellent. Everyone acted really wonderful in this movie but it was too darn slow.
