　　遠在美國的瑞莃到日本度假時，看到左泉在一次跳高比賽中的優美姿態和一種對跳高執著的精神，就深深地被他所吸引，可以說是一見鐘情。為了能時時見到左以泉，瑞莃作了一個大膽的決定：她說服父母，只身一人到日本讀書。為了能更加接近左以泉，瑞莃忍痛剪掉一頭美好的長發，化妝成男孩子，來到左以泉就讀的櫻開學園男校就讀；非常幸運的是，她和左以泉被分到同一宿舍，但是第二天就被左以泉發現是女生，左並未就此揭穿，而知道瑞莃的真實身份的還有保健室的校醫梅田老師。
