Running between Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi and Takarazuka stations in Hyogo Prefecture, a trip down the northern section of the Hankyu Imazu train line runs only 15 minutes. It also acts as the stage for several intersecting stories in the ensemble drama Hankyu Railways – a 15-Minute Miracle. Based on the best-selling short story anthology by Arikawa Hiro, the film stars Nakatani Miki (Memories of Matsuko), Toda Erika (Liar Game), Miyamoto Nobuko (Tampopo), Minami Kaho (The Go Master), Tamayamo Tetsuji (Freesia), Tanimura Mitsuki (Summer Wars) and Ashida Mana (Confessions) as Imazu Line passengers that somehow end up affecting each other's lives. To maintain authenticity, the film's producers intentionally chose actors from Japan's Kansai region to stay true to the roots of the characters and the story.
Shoko (Nakatani Miki) is an office worker whose fiance is leaving her for his younger co-worker. Misa (Toda Erika) is trapped in a dead-end relationship with an abusive boyfriend. An unlikable old woman (Miyamoto Nobuko) has to take care of her granddaughter (Ashida Mana) when her son's marriage appears to be falling apart. A housewife (Minami Kaho) who can't keep up with her friends in the PTA. While these characters all lead very different (though equally troubled) lives, sharing that 15-minute train ride together may lead them changing each other's lives for the better.
Special Edition DVDincludes making of, interviews and trailers. It also comes with a booklet with a spinoff story written by Arikawa Hiro.
