全米のポップ・スター、ハンナ・モンタナ（マイリー・サイラス）は、マイリー・スチュワートという普通の女の子としての生活も送り≪２つの世界≫で生きている女子高生。しかし、最近、その人気のせいで傲慢になり、兄ジャクソンが大学に旅立つ際の見送りを忘れ、親友リリーの誕生日の約束もないがしろにしてしまう。さらには、シューズ・ショップで、人気モデルと靴を奪い合って大乱闘！パパラッチに醜態を撮影されてしまった…。そんな彼女の言動に呆れた父ロビー（ビリー・レイ・サイラス）は、ニューヨークへ向かうはずのプライベートジェットを、急遽故郷のテネシーの超田舎へ…。反省し、自分自身の原点を見つめ直すチャンスを与える為に、マイリーを生まれ故郷に連れ戻したのだ。はじめは気分を害していたマイリーだったが、徐々に懐かしい田舎の暮らしの中で、少しづつ本来の自分を取り戻していく。愛馬との再会、そして懐かしい出会いや初恋が、マイリーの心を徐々に変えていった。しかし、そんなテネシー州の田舎町にも、スーパースター、ハンナ・モンタナへのパパラッチ追跡が…。とうとう“秘密”が暴かれそうに…。ついに、ハンナ（＝マイリー）は、大きな決断を迫られる！？
