September 30, 2006 A pretty good film :)Wow the cover of this dvd makes this movie look really bad and cheap. But actually it was a big movie in korean theatres and people seemed to love it. The synopsis makes the main character (song kang ho) seem like a total loser guy, but he's not that bad. He's very funny and he provides most of the comical aspects of this movie. Also, it is not cheaply made....everything looks cinematographically good...well, the monster looks obviously fake, but it's not that bad. The movie is hilarious, also sad at times, and the ending will surprise you. "The Host" is a wierd English name for it, but in Korea it was called "Gwe-mul" like water monster or something. Min Sik was also very awesome in OldBoy.

October 28, 2005 loved italmost exactly like memento mori. even some of the scenes were identical. i really liked the characters and the way this movie set up the point of view. by the end of this movie i sorta felt like i knew what it felt like to be a ghost...so sad and very scary. the soundtrack is amazingly good, and at first i thought it was going to be one of those confusing endings, but it actually worked out well so i understood.
more psychological thriller than bloody horror or something. if you liked the other high school horror stories, you will like this one too, it is very similar.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

i will say the ending sucked though. it was not happy...not that all endings should be....but there was just no resolution...there was this one part in the very end where someone was doing something very wRONg....and i was just like STOP STOP STOP! and let me tell you.....she would NOt stop!!! the pain was excrutiating watching that part...Did you find this review helpful? October 9, 2005 Reggae influenceConsists of up-beat tunes that are pretty cool....
"yuunagi union" is kinda like an island chill song. A little reggae influence and just like a chillin on the beach song or something.
"Crush the window" is like a happy tune with some light rapping...I think I like this one the best.
"Resound" goes back more to their old style with a rock/techno background but the voice singing sounds like reggae also, then he will start rapping like his old style. sounds weird, but comes out pretty neat.

September 29, 2005 Definitely recommend!Harisu is amazingly beautiful in this movie. some parts (mainly towards the ending with the dancing in our underwear scene) are like strange...but the very ending ending is good and sad, and this movie is like a cool tale to tell. August 29, 2005 crazy ending!!
when you start this movie, it is basically like watching "tell me something" all over again. even with the same actress in it. i personally loved tell me something so this was pretty cool for me. its like a basic detective movie...only the thing about this movie is, the ending is totally random and no one would ever guess who the killer is. then...the screen goes black and it tells you what "H" means, and you sit there and go, "Ohhhhhhh......" its a pretty clever plot twist!! August 29, 2005 good endingthis movie is not very scary and i've actually watched it twice. the first time, it had me looking at the posters on my wall and scanning everything BUT the movie....the ending was pretty sad and got me paying more attention, i even shed a little tear. the second time i watched the movie, i actually fell asleep and woke up to see the ending again. overall, it's ok... but not very scary. It should be under the porn section. The first 2/3 of the movie is basically a not so attractive girl..."making love" to a not so attractive guy. the ending is where it gets sort of good.........so i would just say skip to the last scene and thats all you need to see of this movie.
