文帝好友 ─ 衙差管中原(劉德華)因誤以為自己是文帝，而介入了這場宮闈鬥爭，並與花發展出一段人仙戀情。自幼隨良習道術的竇青蓮(周海媚)本以為原對己有意，得悉真相後，轉而接受文帝的愛。
正邪之爭漸趨激烈，幸原慧根非凡，練得絕世道術，盡殲邪魔。惟原、花之戀在此鬥爭漩渦中，遭遇重重波折......

| Was okay but then expected to be more fighting scenes in but then it is typical 80s were they have lasers when they march with their arrival enemies..hahaha..anyway..well overall would say good.. |

| The ending is unexpected. Quite amazing. I've enjoyed the acting of Andy Lau, Au Yeung Pui San, Yammie Lam Kathy Chau, Lau Dan and others. This movie is highly recommended. |

good!!!
| I thought this series was pretty good. I really enjoyed yammie lam's acting she was very silly. Andy Lau also looks very young in this series. Kathy Chau also did a good job with her role. Overall the story was pretty good. |
