Dolly will never go away....

No other name can carry this film but then the young Barbra Streisand ( the living legend of stage and screen like Funny Girl, A Star is born ).The original stage musical starred Carol Channing ( if you have a chance go and see the stage version it's just as good if not better ) . Directed by another legend Gene Kelly ( Sining in the Rain ). Great music by Jerry Herman, his music will never go away.....Review by www.rareprint.org |

A Classic Musical

This is the very last musical of the golden era of large, expensive productions. The music in the film is plesant, the scenery is beautiful and extravagent, and the actors/actresses sing well. Watch out for Michael Crawford, who acted as a shy storekeeper in the film. You can't quite believe that he's the same Michael of the Phantom of the Opera fame! Anyway, I find this DVD worth buying. |
