Not quite drama or action Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
I don't quite see what there was a rave about in this film; aside from fitting into the classic category, it was a weak presentation. It was niether drama nor action which was disappointing especially with the potentially powerful cast on board...maybe everyone was burnt from the high rate of films they had to put out back in the day. Anyway, I don't regret having this film but I'm glad it's the VCD & not the DVD.

Fu Sheng's Serious Role in Swordman flicks Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
The film directed by Chu Yuan and lead by Fu Sheng is unique (All other titles are led by Ti Lung). A fresh-feel of the swordman title bundled with legendary swordman world conspiracy. The finale is touching when Chew Ah Chi "died" accompanied by a touching song sung by Jenny.

One of the last sworldplay classic. Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This is a must keep. After a few poorer ones by Chu Yuan/Ku Lung, acted mostly by Ti Lung, this one is special and broke box-office of all the previous during its time of release, partly made popular by the TV series, and audience are rushing in, too eager for its ending.
The settings and characters are outstanding in this one and the sword-fighting scenes are special and at its best. A song by diva Jenny made it even more memorable.

Definate purchase for shaws collectors Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Its wonderful to see Shaw Brothers films fully remastered like this. This film looks absolutely fantastic, the colours are vibrant & the typical "in-house" Shaws sets are evocative. The story has a typical Kung Lung novella feel to it, about the Martial World & the secret relationships between the vsrious characters. The film has a kinda dreamy, sad feel to it. Fu Sheng is good and the youthful Guo Jianfei, Jason Pia Paio & Ku Feng are excellent in their respective roles, and derek Yee probably steals the show with a memorable (if rare) bad guy performance. My one gripe with Chu Yuan films is that the Kung Fu isnt of the standards that Liu Chia Liang or the Venoms were putting out at the time, but the martial arts action has improved this time around.

Another Chu Yuan masterpiece Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
It looks like I can only be satisfied with a Chu Yuan movie in the swordplay genre. Chang Cheuh and Hua Shan's movies lack that special something compared to a Chu Yuan-directed flick. This movie has a good plot and excellent performances from Derek Erh Tung Sheng, Jason Pai Piao and Ku Feng. However, despite his legendary status, Alexander Fu Sheng seems lost and miscast as if he wandered into a Chu Yuan movie by mistake when he should have been reporting on a Chang Cheuh set. Despite this setback, I highly recommend this
entertaining movie which kept me from going to the toilet for its entire length.

Heroes shed no tears Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
This movie isn't that exciting as compared to other Chu Yuan's classics. Too much diagloue and weaker plot. However, the songs by Jenny are excellent and Derek Yee had also outstanding performance in this show. Still ok for viewing for all Kung Lung's fans.
