"Hex" on one level is a cheesy grindhouse horror flick, but it is done so darn well that I just have to give it props. It is loads of creepy fun from start to finish. Great care is taken to set the stage properly for the terror that follows. The old mansion in which the events take place is located on an extremely narrow alley that would be every claustrophobic's worst nightmare. A pond with a perpetual fog is at the mansion's doorstep. The mansion itself is a dark, creaky wreck of a place. Tien Ni, Wang Rong, Chan Si Kai, and all the minor characters play their parts with the appropriate scary conviction. The plot has a number of skillfully-written and entirely unexpected turns. The frightening effects are, well, effective. And then there is that memorable (and long) nude dance scene. It's a part of a ritual to expel the ghost from the mansion, but basically is an excuse to let an exceptionally shapely and entirely nude young woman writhe provocatively for several minutes. "Hex" may not be high art, indeed it is high camp, but it has some wonderfully artful hair-raising images and is a blast to watch. I highly recommend "Hex" for a mature audience. |

Once again, I highly recommended that movie. When you view that movie on 80's perspective, it's marvellous. The ending, indeed! is unexpected, but if you are focus on the movie and deeply think about the every single plot and sub-plot, you might know the ending. The last sence have a beautiful naked dance...but wicked....so highly recommended! |

This is such a delight to watch. The viewer is never sure what is going to happen. It is much more than a standard horror movie. The twist at the end left me breathless. I would never have guessed the ending. Highly recommended. |
