Jazzy & Beautiful
|
Gorgeous Jpop siren, Mika Nakashima has made a great single. Though it only holds 3 tracks, with one being an instrumental, the songs are worth it. Vocals are beautiful, as Mika shows of her versatility switching back and forth from her falsetto and her chest voice. Hi no Tori (track 1) is a nice and slow jazz song. Though not as powerful and hardhitting as some of her other jazz songs, this track has a certain mysterious feeling about it that make it unique. Mika shows off her falsetto a lot during this song, constantly switching back and forth in the chorus. This gives the song another edge as it smooths out the whole track. A beautiful track that's worth a listen. Missing You (track 2) is a gorgeous ballad, that is slower than Hi no Tori. The whole song is rather slow and gentle, as it doesn't really have a climax. However, the song does have a very pretty quality to it, which makes it a great track to listen too. Vocals are gorgeous, as she uses her chest voice more during this song. Slow track that shows off her husky voice. This single is definitely worth a listen. All the tracks are great and have a slow, but jazzy feeling to them. Recommended for Mika fans because Hi no Tori is found on her MUSIC album. Also recommended for fans of the song who want to sing along with it or enjoy Missing You. |

Hi no Tori Rocks!
|
Out of all Mika's singles that she made, I have to say this is the best. Hi no Tori is a very smooth song thats kind of Jazzy, but still shows off her vocals. Missing is also a great one, but Hi no Tori is one that you can listen to over and over again. |

Beautiful; simply said.
| I love this single. Both "Hi no tori" and "Missing" are amazing songs on this single. AGAIN, Mika ceases to amaze me with her ultimatly amazing, beautiful voice. I love the melodies to both songs, and the cover album is inspiring also. Both songs are very easy to sing, for those who like karaoke/practice. Very smooth and relaxing. Highly reccammended during a good read or slow dance. |

Okay, so how do you analyze this?
| Someone said 'Missing' (available on this CD) appears nowhere else. Wrong. That cover of Toshiba Kubota's song is present as track 3 on 'Soul Tree...' Anyway, on to the song. The ballad does have a romantic, luxurious, and soul stirring feel to it, making it probably the most interesting song released in 2004...and the best on 'Music.' Later. |

Great for a ballads!
| "hi no tori" is such an amazing song. It's so calm & cool. I never get bored listening to it over and over again. I heard this song is based on the book. "Missing" is also a good ballads. You won't find this track anywhere else besides in this single. The photographs is also amazing. Mika is such an unique artist! |

Typical Mika ballad
| The beginning of "Hi no Tori" is just absolutely fabulous with all the tinkering sounds. ^-^ This ballad is definite contrast to her previous single, "SEVEN". With the help of some strings and Mika's awesome vocals, this ballad sounds very comforting and sweet to the listener. I think "Missing" is a cover song, and although I haven't heard the original, I don't think it's possible that she butchered it in anyway. "Missing"'s orchestra with piano gives the jazz touch usually found in Mika's songs. An awesome single to have, surely not to be missed. |

One of the best
| I saw the video for this on the international channel and was amazed at the video direction it had. It made my jaw drop when I saw it. The music composition is outstanding and very melodic. Her voice is defenitely not like the other jpop singers. MIKA all the way. can't wait for the new single. |

mika is on fire (serious, her dress is burning)
| Mika's style has consistently improved over time, and 'Hi no Tori' continues that trend. A very soft, typical Mika ballad that's reminiscent of her previous songs 'Yuki no Hana' and 'Seppun'. The music video brings out the spirit of the song well, projecting Mika's physical and vocal beauty with its imagery of birds, specifically the phoenix (if I'm not mistaken). Mika fans, check it out! |

Gorgeous Song
| A very beautiful song with a beautiful singer. Mika's falsettos will once again mesmerize you and the melody will pull you in and not let go. I'm greatly anticipating her new album! |
