Great song! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This is the first song from Hikaru that I wanna get, and I like it a lot! Her voice is very pretty, even if it could be a little more smoother i think.

She Shines! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
The music itself is unique: A loud burst of energy immediately grabs your attention from the beginning. A slight pause and the song transcens into a slow accoustic mood, with Hikki sounding just as good as ever. There is a strong urgency in her voice and the tune flows into a fast rush in the next minute. The chorus is actually the intro. The flow of music is quite catchy actually and u get the hang of the song after a few listens. I like the bridge part too and the whole song ends well. "Hikari" sounds different from some of Hikki's previous works. Knowing that this single is self-produced by the girl herself, it makes "Hikari" even more significant. Goes out to show how versatile Utada is in her music composition. Hope she churns out more interesting and cool music!

-- heh -- Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
this song is catchy as hell. when i first heard that she would be doing the theme to Square's Kingdom hearts, i expected a slow song, because the game, afterall, had Disney characters in it. i was expecting something slow and orchestra-y (something close to FInal Distance). When i d/led the song on march 25th, however, i was in for a shock. the song had a fast beat, and it didnt seem too sqaure-y. But i instantly fell in love with the song. And after watching the op. to Kingdom Hearts, it just made me love the song more (especially the remixes). her voice is also as good as always, and it doesnt sound as if she's straining her voice. i really like this song (really REALLY like it) but if you're expecting another slow song from hikki, listen to the song first and i'm sure you'll love it too.

Hikki has STILL got it... no doubt Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
So what if this song is very different style wise from her other songs... it's only natural for artists, true artists, to experiment and try new things. She is doing just this, and evolving as a better artists because of it. At least she's not JUST staying with what she knows everyone will like, that would be the easy way out. She ISNT britney, and she deserves to become a legend, and i think she will. This song is a very good, strong song and i heard she's recording an english version for the US release of the video game Kingdom Hearts...so look forward to that. ALSO, remember she is recording her English album too, so look out for that this fall/winter in your US record stores!! I like utada's voice in this song and in traveling and other recent singles. It has grown up so much, and it's so much stronger and so much more soulful. She really has proved that great artistry wins in the long run. GO HIKARU! ^_^

Hikari by Hiki...YiPPIE!!! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Hikari is a very heartful song. It captures the purity and simplicity of it's namesake. This is definitely a slower song but very sincere. Hikaru is an artist you can't really pidgeon-hole into a particular music genre. She is very versatile. Hikaru can do R&B, POP, Hip Hop, Love Ballads, and maybe Rap ( well hopefully not..). Bottomline Hikaru Utada Rocks!! Until Hikaru releases her first Engrish album...Utada is still the best combination of Japanese music and American style.
