It's hard to imagine that only a short while ago Korea was a land of no freedom. This film based on a true story unveiled the dark period when Korea was under military regime. A lot of scenes are bloody but the last 30 minutes was very touching. The love and trust amongst prisoner friends pierced deep into your heart. It was such a very very unfair world. |

I wasn't expecting much from this movie. When i got it, i was very suprised and moved. Although, Choi Min Soo's performance was very overacted to the point where it was riduculous Lee Sung Jae made it up withhis outstanding performance. The movie tends to try to force you to really feel sympathy for the characters, which was unnecessary because you would of felt sympathy for them even if the directer didn't try. I feel that this movie was a good grim movie portraying society. |
