Triad movies are a beloved staple of Hong Kong Cinema, and Wong Jing is well aware of it. The prolific producer makes a return to the fan-favorite genre with Hong Kong Bronx, a bloody triad drama directed by Billy Chung (Colour of the Loyalty). Triad film regular Jordan Chan takes center stage, playing a character different from the young, brash and cocky Chicken, who Chan played so memorably in the classic Young and Dangerous films. In Hong Kong Bronx, Chan is Neil, a former gang enforcer experienced at the power games and the doubletalk that comprise the triad underworld. Now looking to go straight, he attempts to put his personal honor into daily practice, but the underworld is not quite ready to let him go.

Just out of prison, Neil has no plans on returning to the triad, and instead is looking to care for his two sisters, as well as start a personal business with one of his former triad pals (Timmy Hung). But his path to decency is blocked by a variety of forces, including the police, who won't trust a man with his checkered past, as well as newer, more amoral triads like Johnny (Chan Bo Yuen), who insists on trafficking drugs. Neil is drawn back when Uncle Bo (Wong Tin Lam) expresses interest in assigning Neil a district, in order to bring a steadying hand back into the gang. But Johnny takes Uncle Bo's interest in Neil as a threat, and decides to act against Neil's family and friends to insure his unchallenged power. Meanwhile, blue-collar worker Bull (Kenny Wong) is drawn deeper into the underworld when his young son is forced into triad recruitment. After Bull's girlfriend (Winnie Leung) is assaulted by loan sharks, he too becomes fed up - and he finds a kindred spirit in the similarly angry Neil. Armed with knives and ferocious righteousness, the two men strike back the only way they can: with bloody, extreme violence.

在九十年代黑社會百花齊放的日子，出身「洪勝」的「石屎釘」(陳小春飾)憑拳頭打出天下，後因傷人罪入獄。八年的牢獄生涯令他徹底改變，決定出獄後不再涉足江湖事。與好友九輝(洪天明飾)自組裝修公司，展開新生活。但退出江湖，談何容易。新崛起的黑人物Johnny(陳寳轅飾)懼怕「石屎釘」回歸欲先下手為強，不斷作出挑釁，石屎釘弟妹先遭蹂躪，好友九輝更被打死。「石屎釘」一心欲擺脫黑勢力的漩渦，卻無奈地為了復仇，被迫再次墮入這個漩渦之中……

The 1990's was the time triad societies in Hong Kong flourished. During that time, "Hongsheng" was one of the biggest gangs and ruled East Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon and the New Territories. It was during those years that "Hardball-Neil" became known as a ruthless triad boss. With brute force he ruled the underground society.

Yet right at the peak of his life, he met his downfall: he was sentenced to eight years in prison for assault occasioning bodily harm. The years as a prisoner completely changed Neil's whole outlook on life. He was determined to reform himself and vowed never to involve in any shady business. He moved to a new satellite town with his two younger sisters Bonnie and Barbie, who were both still attending high school. He established a renovation company with his good friend Fai, and with this new career, he planned to start a new life, leaving his past as a crook behind. However, it was easier said than done.
