Southern All-Stars vocalist Kuwata Keisuke originally planned to launch his "Round-the-Clock Music Proclamation" plan with the single Honto wa Kowai Ai to Romance, along with a live tour and a brand-new solo album. However, his recent illness has put the tour and the album on hold, leaving the single as the final release before his hiatus begins. As the retro style cover suggests, Honto wa Kowai Ai to Romance is an old-school rock-and-roll ballad featuring a stellar vocal performance in that signature Kuwata voice. In addition to the two brand-new songs, the single also includes six recordings of Kuwata's special Nippon Budokan concert in March 2010.

First Press Edition comes with a tin badge (one style randomly chosen from two) and other special features.
