In the far-off future, the Japanese people have been exiled from their own country, and they're about to fight back! Based on the light novel by Kawakami Minoru, anime series Horizon on the Middle of Nowhere takes place in a world where Japan becomes the only inhabitable place on Earth, and remaining nations have split Japan into territories. Meanwhile, the original inhabitants - the Japanese people - are driven away by the war between territories, forcing to survive on a ship that circles Japan. Knowing that human beings will soon have to determine on their own future rather than following old human history as a guide, a group of Japanese students decide take advantage of the times and gather their powers to take back their nation. Filled with striking visuals of a post-apocalyptic future, Horizon is nevertheless at its core an old-fashioned adventure about a group of underdogs beating the odds to become unlikely heroes.

Volume one includes episode one. First Press Edition includes character commentary, stage events, part one of character introduction, music video, and trailers.

遠い未来。人類が天上から再び地球に降り立った時代。人々は再び天に昇るために前地球時代の歴史書≪聖譜≫を作り出し、その記述に従いながらかつての歴史の再現を行っていた。しかし、１６４８年の記述を最後に、聖譜はその更新を止めてしまう。各国は歴史再現を続けながら、その先の未来を切り拓く術を模索することとなった。そして現在。聖譜に記された最後の年、１６４８年。運命の終わる時「末世」を迎え、世界は大きく変わろうとしていた—。
