Domoto Tsuyoshi, from the popular idol group Kinki Kids stars in Hoshi ni Negai wo (a.k.a. Wish Upon A Star), the first non-animation TV Drama ever produced by Disney with the help of another company. Based on the true story of planetarium engineer Ohira Takayuki, who designed Megastar II - the World's most advanced planetarium projector.

Young Takayuki has been committed to creating planetariums since he was nine years old, when he made his room into a planetarium with luminous paint. He is now majoring in mechanical engineering at college and trying to create real ones. He befriends Takeda Kuniaki, an astrophysicist and the two begin collaborating in preparation for Kuniaki's upcoming conference. At Kuniaki’s place, Takayuki meets his childhood friend, Yoko - the only person who ever liked his first planetarium. Could there be something written in the stars for these two?

2005年8月にフジテレビ系列で放送されて人気を博した、爽やかな感動に満ちた人間ドラマ。プラネタリウム開発者・大平貴之の実話をベースに、ディズニーが実写版TVドラマを他社と初めて共同制作した記念すべき作品としても話題を集めた。主演は、ミュージシャンのみならず俳優としても活躍する堂本剛。「夢はいつか叶う。努力すれば報われる」という、ディズニーの不変のメッセージとディズニーらしい世界観のなか、夢にあふれた物語が繰り広げられていく。映像特典として、放送直前スペシャルが収録されている。
人付き合いの苦手な青年・大平貴之は、幼い頃に見たプラネタリウムの感動がきっかけとなり、今も自分の部屋でひたすらプラネタリウム作りに励んでいた。そんななか、貴之は宇物理学者の武田邦明に出会って意気投合する。貴之は武田の学会の準備を手伝う一方で、幼なじみの陽子や武田も巻き込みながら、さらにプラネタリウム作りに没頭。やがて武田の学会が無事に成功し、海外の研究機関への派遣も決まって、すべてが順調に進んでいくかのように見えたのだが…。
