Strangely Intriguing O.o Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
This movie seemed all-over-the-place to me, but yet I enjoyed it regardless. Some of the acting was pretty bad in parts but the visuals were beautiful and interesting. Once I started watching it, for some reason, I was drawn into the complicated storyline and characters. Zhang Ziyi is a very simple and plain-looking girl but is a pretty good actress some of the time. The ending is beautiful but sad in its way. While I do find this movie often forgettable compared to better Chinese action/romances, it didn't give me that "i can't believe i wasted 2 hours of my life on this!" feeling. I thought the sexual parts brought down the quality of the movie not to mention they were kind of funny and odd!! O.o Anyyyyyyyyywaaay! It's a fair movie, but nothing I'd watch more than 2 times or recommend to someone looking for a good Asian film. O.O nuh-uh.

This is my favourite film in the world. Yes, ive read that some people think the story is weak, that the ending is melodramatic etc, etc. I couldnt care less. This film will fill up your senses with its beautiful use of colour (the costumes, sets and out-door scenery is the best my eyes have ever experienced on film), music (the soundtrack is superb) and the particularly spectacular action scenes. This film to me is visual poetry...I went through every emotion possible with this drama and have watched it time and time again and still feel the same about it. Yi Mou Zhang is a genius as far as I am concerned. I cannot wait for his next offering. The lead actors are gorgeous and credible and if film is there to make you really FEEL, feel I most certainly did.

The movie was visual and gorgeous...but the story line was awful. It was far too predictable, you could tell what was going to happen, and who was going to kill who. I also felt that falling in love in three days is laughably fake. It took a lot away from the believeability of the film, and added a callow, childish element to it. I did like the scenes and outfits of the movie too, though. The movie could have been much better. Also, the kissing scenes were pretty bad. It looks like it was agonizing for them to kiss each other! If its that bad, dont do it!

I like Zhang ziyi, only because of her beauty, absolutely not for her performance.

Her role in Croaching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was remarable, but it seems that she has got no performance progress since then.
Her face, as recorgnized by almost everyone, shows signs of stubborn, that’s all, but no expression of inner feelings, especially in some complicated circumstances. That’s why I am quite disappointed with her roles in some films including House of Flying Daggers.
I have a feeling that she has been offered some roles which are far beyond her performance ability.

Anyway, I insist on her attractive beauty. I am looking forward a break-through from Zi Yi, or at least a better change in her performance in the near future

i think this movie is brilliant! not even brilliant, The house of the flying daggers is one movie you must see! it's got Romance and action all together in one!

There are many flaws in this movie, for example, how did Mei know where the sword was while she was dancing if she was blind? If you look carefully there are many scenes that are not right and not believable.

A great dragging movie Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
The director who filmed hero Zhang Yimou ! In this movie you would how China Set in the Tang Dynasty with all the beauty and grandeur of ancient China, but lacking in real depth to story. A gorgeous movie with some fantastic set pieces A story that is a old fashion story with the 2 captain Takeshi Kaneshiro and wind know as water Wind ( Andy Lau tak wah) set up a hash plan to use her as bait to capture the Dagger's leader. But one of the officials falls in love with her and her with him and they try to escape where they start to fall in love A girl in the forest who is blind mei but also Beautiful Dancer Suspected that can do amazing moves is a ( Ziyi Zhang also in Hero and Crouching Tiger Hidden dragon) Mei and wind get capture by the Flying Daggers Master which Kaneshiro get capture as well from the forest for being a spyer on Mei Then wind find out that Mei isn't blind and not daughter of The Flying Dagger's. Mei is order to kill wind so that that wind don't ruin the plan. Mei take Wind to the fields where Wind is tied up Mei get her sword out but Evenually she did not kill him they final Mei and wind get together the captain finds out and kill mei! Wind and The captain Battle it out who wins who lose!all of that constrained emotion, unrequited love!) could you have someone suddenly going all red and bursting into floods of tears no. This was all about beneath the surface acting and for me Zhang Ziyi was well cast and acquitted herself he colours on the DVD seemed so rich as to give an almost cartoony feel, and on certain scenes the skin tones were totally blown out so any detail was totally lost, and for a film in which sound was more important than most there as a pig awful stepping in the latter third of the film.

it's meanly about a love triangle! lots of fighting scenes and a few love scenes. sad endding...but it touched my heart. Great acting! All the characters know how to act. it's to the point where you wouldn't except who's telling the truth or lying! i recommend it to you if you like the movie called, "Hero."
