設計事務所に勤めるニュートン（スティーブ・マーティン）は、中学生の頃から好きだった初恋相手のベッキ−（ダナ・デラニー）のために、生まれ故郷に自ら設計した二人のスウィートホームを建設。新築の家にリボンをかけ、ベッキーにプロポーズするがあっさり断られてしまう。失意のニュートンは、あるパーティで出会ったウエイトレス、グエン（ゴールディ・ホーン）と一夜をともに過ごすことに。翌日、グエンはニュートンに聞いた話から彼の建てた家を探し出し、勝手に住み着いてしまう。その理由を正当化するために、町中の人に嘘を重ねていくグエンだったが・・・。嘘を嘘で固めるセリフの応酬を、スティーブ・マーティンとゴールディ・ホーンがピッタリの息の合ったベテラン演技で魅せるラブ・コメディ。監督は「スター・ウォーズ」シリーズのヨーダなど、ボイスキャストとしても活躍するフランク・オズ。「アリーｍｙラブ」シリーズでもお馴染み、ピーター・マクニコルもニュートンの親友役で出演している。 オリジナル劇場予告編
