MBC's 2006 daily drama How Much Love is a classic Romeo and Juliet tale of young star-crossed lovers from two feuding families of different social class. Featuring up-and-coming talents like Jo Yeo Jeong (Terms of Endearment), Kim Ji Hoon (Golden Era of Daughter in Law), Jung Chan (Lovers), and Yoon Sae Ah (Lovers in Prague), the family melodrama also brings in a distinguished line-up of veteran actors such as Ko Doo Shim (The Snow Queen) and Yeo Woon Kye (Dae Jang Geum). Although the overall theme of the haves versus the have-nots may sound all too conventional, the drama stands firm in its appeal thanks to the sincerity and realism the leads bring to the screen as they endure all in the name of love.

Despite being born with a silver spoon in her mouth, Sun Joo (Jo Yeo Jeong) has no chip on her shoulders. Contrary to her fussy sister (Yoon Sae Ah), Sun Joo is a happy-go-lucky person who prefers beancurd soup over steak, and couldn't care less about designer clothes. After failing her college entrance exam, her father forces her to study abroad, but that lasts only a couple months. Returning to Korea, she enters a second-tier college, graduates with a child education degree, and finds a job as an assistant kindergarten teacher. Things are not so dandy in the romance department though as her father already has his eyes on Hyung Chul (Jung Chan), a longtime friend of the family, as her potential mate. Sun Joo, however, falls in love with Dong Soo (Kim Ji Hoon), a self-made man from a poor but close-knit family. With her family urging her to break up with Dong Soo, Sun Joo wonders how much love it takes to stay together.

本劇可以說是一部韓版的【羅密歐與茱麗葉】。講述了首爾富家女兒善珠 和艱苦環境中成長的東秀因為長輩的恩怨，開始了異常艱辛的愛情長跑故事，由趙如晶與金志勳擔綱演出劇中要苦戀的戀人。 　

大洋水產集團社長的女兒善珠(趙如晶 飾)努力想在自己有興趣的事情上做出一番成績讓父親刮目相看，然而爸爸卻自行替她宣布了訂婚的消息，決定離家出走抗議父親安排的她回到了兒時生活過的漁村，遇見了正直的東秀(金智勳 飾) ，兩人因而陷入愛河。

但是善珠的爸爸和東秀的爸爸以前是冤家，善珠的爸爸曾經陷害東秀的爸爸坐牢，並搶走了東秀爸爸的財產，這個秘密被揭露後，善珠和東秀將如何繼續守護他們的愛情呢?!
