戰國時期，秦國在秦王《王衛國》嬴政的統治下，連連攻城掠地，周邊小國備受戰亂之苦。在秦國為人質的燕國太子丹《張山》，潛逃出咸陽宮，廣招各國奇人賢士，共同抗秦。風流倜儻，落魄江湖的劍客荊軻《羅飛宇》。與酒店老板娘任姜《劉曉慶》，相知相惜，卻禁不住眾人的禮遇而決心加入刺秦行列。此時燕公主夷佶《劉曉慶》，竟然無法自主的愛上荊軻。在秦叛將樊於期自願獻出頭顱後，荊軻和燕市少年秦舞陽只得慷慨赴義。十月易水正寒、抗秦之士白衣悲歌送壯士，公主夷佶為表愛意，親嘗毒藥。咸陽城內，荊軻和任姜破鏡重逢，怎奈秦大殿上，秦舞陽臨陣慌亂，圖窮匕現，刺秦大計，功虧一簣。刑場上，任姜以荊妻身份冒死奠祭。數年後，獨夫秦始皇死亡，而他用民脂民膏築成的阿房宮，也在一把大火中灰飛湮滅。
