Boasting a worldwide gross of over 580 million US dollars, I Am Legend has proven to be a rarity: a successful science-fiction blockbuster with a haunting, complex emotional edge. Neville strives to find a cure for these creatures in order to save humanity, while also struggling with the crippling desperation of his everyday loneliness, and his slow descent into madness. A combination of horror film, existential drama, and post-apocalyptic thriller, I Am Legend wowed audiences with amazing special effects and thrilling action sequences, not to mention Will Smith's riveting solo performance.
