After I Love Friends (2001) and I Love You (1999), Japanese filmmaker Osawa Yutaka continues his humanistic series with I Love Peace (2003), his third film revolving around a deaf protagonist. Featuring inspired cinematography from Okazaki Kozo, I Love Peace is an uncommon, eye-opening film that bears witness to both the tragedy of war and the triumph of human spirit and compassion. Izumi (Oshidari Akiko), who wants to become the first deaf artificial limb maker, travels to Afghanistan to volunteer with a NGO that provides aid to children. There, she meets and slowly develops a bond with Parizatt (Afifa), a young girl who lost her leg to a mine. Izumi decides to create an artificial limb for Parizatt.
